Blending Families: How to Help Families Navigate When Each Person Starts the Journey From a Different Place

Learn about the ins and outs of blending families and how support clients in their blended family based on understanding the different developmental needs of each family member as they navigate this journey. Common challenges and solution options will be discussed as well as strategies if clients need to un-blend. Valerie will teach this through lecture, discussion, video presentation, and experiential work.
Valerie Frankel, LMFT has been in private practice in Davis for 17 years. She specializes in co-parenting counseling, divorce, blended families, and grief counseling as well as working with deaf clients and clients with chronic and terminal illnesses. Valerie is a mediator and collaborative divorce coach and also teaches in the Counselor Education Program at Sacramento State University.
